This arboreal and solitary animal curls typically in the shape of a ball. They hide in some tree branches. The silky anteaters cannot live for long and thus they live for as long as 2 to 3 years life span. The female counterparts actually give birth to a single young one and they build their nests among dead leaves but in tree holes. By licking moisture the anteaters can be found in lowland rain forests with the continuous structure of canopy and different places about the need to descend from the trees. Researchers are still researching about the silky anteaters and their habitats.
Dwelling of the silky anteaters
Usually the silky anteaters dwell in the silk and cotton trees. Since their shape resemble a seed pod fibers they can use the trees as camouflage in order to avoid the attacks of the predators like hawks, eagles, Whenever the silky anteaters feel that they are being threatened, they defend themselves. Standing on their hind legs these animals hold their forefeet close to their faces. This makes them hide their face and strike any other animal who so ever tries to get close to these sharp claws.
